Shower pump installations and replacements
Shower pump installations and replacements
If your shower pressure is a bit lacklustre then you may need a shower pump installations service to install a shower pump and boost your shower pressure. There are many different shower pumps on the market to take in to consideration the differing types of cold and hot water systems that you may have in your home. There are now shower pumps available that will work with very little tank feed pressure and even negative feed pressure. Typically a hot water cylinder and cold water storage tank provide the feeds to a twin impeller pump which could provide 1.5 bar of pressure upwards. To give you an idea, 1 bar of pressure is equal to the pressure exerted by water stored 10 meters above the outlet of the shower head approximately. A normal shower head without a pump probably delivers around 0.25 bar depending on how high up the base of the cold water storage tank is situated from the shower head.
Time guide
This really depends on what hot and cold water system you have and how much pipework is required to complete the installation of the pump. Typically my shower pump installations take a day to two days to complete.
